Eating a healthy diet can be challenging with the innumerable diet manuals available. I’ve learned that the best way to adopt and maintain a healthy diet is to take stock of the foods you love and make moderate changes that will benefit your overall health.
For me, I LOVE pizza, French toast, waffles and burgers. I still eat all of these foods, but I’ve made simple substitutions that made them unhealthy to healthy. My mom’s French toast recipe would be approximately 700 calories (using white bread, whole eggs, whole milk and syrup). My recipe which uses whole wheat bread, egg whites, cinnamon, ginger and syrup is less than 300 calories!
